Latin or Classical Greek
IB Latin or Classical Greek is a unique course designed for students who are interested in learning Latin or Classical Greek. For those interested in taking this course it is important to mention that the course requires some foundational knowledge of the language and culture.
The course focuses on developing competence in reading and understanding unadapted classical texts in their original form. The course explores key areas of the classical world, including linguistic, historical, archaeological, and art historical evidence. By studying these different aspects, students deepen their knowledge of the political, cultural, and artistic concerns reflected in ancient literature and the influence of the classical world on modern society. By the end of the course, students are expected to be able to read, analyze, and discuss classical literature in its original language.
