The EE Supervisor provides crucial support and guidance during the entire EE journey. EE Supervisors are your school's subject teachers in the field you’ve chosen for your Extended Essay. Your school will assign an EE Supervisor who specialises in the subject you have chosen to write your Extended Essay in. Note that you cannot choose your EE Supervisor yourself.
Students are assigned an EE Supervisor once they have declared the subject area for their Extended Essay. This usually takes place around the middle of the Diploma Programme Year 1 (DP1). At this stage, students are matched with a supervisor who is knowledgeable in their chosen field and will be able to provide tailored guidance and support for their research and writing process.
