One of the applications of optimisation is with finding maximum lengths of object in order to fulfil a specific criteria or function. The Moving Ladder problem is one of these types of problems.

For this investigation, I first analyzed the frequency of the use of four chosen function words: the, and, of, and a per 100 words, of the first 1000 words of two novels, one written by Wilde and one written by Hinton. I compared Poisson distribution and binomial distribution to the actual distribution of the function words. Then, I counted the frequency of the four function words of a third text, written by one of the two authors. Using Bayes’ theorem, I calculated the probability that the third text was written by one of the two authors based on the frequency of the four function words.

Using assumptions and building a model using Mathematics on top of the assumptions allowed me to understand the movement of price.

I used Python to model the price movement according to my model and compared it with real-world.
