Founded and led a 20+ student group, coordinated weekly meetings, collected waste paper in the local community to make recycled paper products, initiated events (Earth Day), raised more than 700 USD by selling recycled products, and donated all earnings to charities (Hopeful Heart & Ting Ting) who supported families in need;

Planned and chaired weekly meetings, organized 10+ fundraising events to earn revenue for charities, coordinated activities for community members, formulated ideas such as a plastic ban and “gender neutrality day” to solve school issues, facilitated cordial relationships between the student body and school board, implemented an “empty hour” for students to meditate and relieve stress;

Founded and led a group to increase awareness on the topic of gender inequalities in the school, including equal pay, LGBTQ+, and sex-ed, wrote monthly articles for 500+ people; consulted LGBTQ+ community members;


Build bamboo stairs on Moganshan muddy mountain to let local people walk without concerns of slipping, instructed my team to work in an assembly line: where some cut the bamboo in half and others carved it in the ground, extracted invasive plants in Chongming farmland in order to let crops thrive, planted corns in Anhui farmland, taught English to Shaolin temple kids;

Organized meetings, facilitated communication with HOSA organization, led research on bone marrow donation in order to produce a public service announcement, displayed in the local community to raise awareness for patients; won the national silver award;

Led the team to plan trips to local schools of deaf children, organized fundraising events in the community calling for basic life supplies, visited schools to play with 50+ deaf children;

Led school MUN meetings as the chair, attended and facilitated 10+ international conferences, concluded my experiences and tips to guide new delegates to adapt and develop the skills needed for the conference, debated on solutions to resolve climate change and gender inequality;

Best leadership award
Awarded by Nanjing International School; only accepts teacher nomination; only 1 person is chosen through G6-12; the nominee has to take on a leadership role in 3 or more groups; make great contribution and positive influence to the school spirit
- From G9-G10, I was the student council president; founder and conductor of the school choir; leader of the advanced orchestra; football team captain; founder and president of community service clubs such as SUP'12 and Ting Ting deaf school; chair of school MUN; main director of the annual G10 showcase. I dedicate at least 20+h/week in leading.

Annual community service award
- Only accept teacher nominations, 2 people are chosen through G6-12; the nominee achieved the most service hours and activities internally and externally; must self-initiate events and clubs; show evidence of personal growth & responsible citizenship
- I founded and led SUP’12 to make new paper products, sold to fund 20,000 TWD for charities; led Ting Ting club to visit the school for deafmutes & called for resources donations; led the student council to organize Earth day and 7+ yearly events to entertain community members & generate funds; was school ambassador to aid new student’s transition.


Best musician of the year award
- Only accept teacher nominations, only 1 person is chosen through G9-12; the nominee must participate and lead in multiple music activities; consistently attend and contribute positively (prepare) to all rehearsals, performances, and musical events.
- I founded and conducted the school choir; led the advanced orchestra; collaborated with charities to organize seasonal events for musical performance funding; prepared both groups to perform in graduation and ceremonies; aside from rehearsal time, I spent 5+h/week to learn conducting from scratch and arranging/editing music scores


AP Scholar Award
- Awarded by College Board, granted to students who receive scores of 3 or higher on three or more AP Exams.
- I took all the AP courses offered at my grade, including AP US History, AP Language and Composition, AP Biology, and AP Chinese Language and Culture. Although I didn’t fully master testing skills, I did gain a lot of knowledge from these courses. The transition from AP to IB was hard, so I spent 4+h/week for each course above to lay the foundation.


Director award
- Achieve a minimum of 55 points out of 63 points every semester and have been on the Principal’s Roll for consecutive semesters, have successfully met the requirements for C&S / CAS, and have earned a minimum of 4 on the Personal Project (G10 only)
- Maintained a grade of 55 and above for 4+ semesters with the majority being 7 in G10 semester 2; actively communicated with teachers and peers to solve any misunderstandings in learning; participated in peer tutoring proactively so my classmates and I can improve together.
