East Carolina University reported an overall acceptance rate of 43.39% for the 2024 application year, accepting 12,150 out of 28,000 applicants. This marks a slight increase from the previous year's acceptance rate of 42.47%, when 11,645 out of 27,400 applicants were admitted. Over the past few years, acceptance rates have fluctuated, with rates around 42.69% in 2022 and 43.33% in 2021. Notably, acceptance rates were significantly higher in 2018 and 2019, at 79% and 82.2% respectively, indicating a trend of increased selectivity in more recent application years.
