Western Carolina University is test optional, allowing applicants to choose whether or not to submit standardized test scores. Additionally, the university permits self-reporting of scores, meaning students can provide their test results without the official documentation at the time of application. Currently, 49% of applicants submit SAT scores, while 59% submit ACT scores, indicating that some students submit both since the totals exceed 100%.
