Pacific University has demonstrated a trend of gradually increasing acceptance rates over the past several years. In 2022, the overall acceptance rate stood at 92.2% with 2,759 applicants and 2,546 accepted, maintaining the same rate from 2021, which had 2,266 applicants and 2,063 accepted. Prior to this, the rates were 89.3% in 2020 and 86.6% in 2019, indicating a consistent upward trajectory in acceptance as the number of applicants also fluctuated—declining slightly from 2,524 in 2019 to 2,458 in 2020. Overall, the decreasing competitiveness is evident as the acceptance rate rose from 78.8% in 2016 to the current levels above 90%.
