Write poetry and participate in a youth-led magazine

Write blogs focused on bridging cultural gaps and expanding knowledge to others about other cultures 

In school slam poetry club. We would write and critique poetry together and often perform a slam poetry session at the schools annual Writers’ Week

Plan school events and help around the school with volunteering activities 

A club focused on uplifting black students within the school academically and providing social opportunities to pursue secondary education or make it in the workforce outside of high school. 

MVP: Most Valuable Pirate awarded to a student specifically chosen by a teacher who believes they excel in leadership, academics, & citizenship while creating a good classroom environment

Academic Letter: Academic Award, awarded to those with a 3.0+ gpa during the school year

Citizenship: awarded to students who teachers grade 3+ on citizenship score
